The chips in this movie are using 13.56Mhz. The read range on these tags is less than a foot for the most part. Scared of a foot? Then wrap the fucking thing in metal. UHF Gen 2 tags can be read reliably around 20 feet but can be interrupted by metal or water pretty easily.
Those wallets are fucking hilarious, but would work I guess.... Just don't believe the hype in this movie. They would need to implant tags with some sort of GPS tracking device to track your every movement. The size of that chip would need be pretty damn big, and very fucking expensive. |
Its not as big as you'd think it would be. Its a tiny capsule that they insert underneath the skin. A family has already put one in their child, as it'll track him whereever he goes. It also has embedded information like his name, blood type, etc.
Of course, this is a extreme case. Not a lot of people would go out of their way to tag themselves and their children willingly. I don't recall the device itself; but its a active device that can be tracked by satellite. I'll go look it up in a second.
