He told me that Sasuke kills Itachi. Itachi then reveals that it was Akatsuki who killed his clan and not Itachi as he had previously stated. He told Sasuke this in order for him to become strong enough to take out Akatsuki. I believe he also said that they were collecting the Jinchuuriki not to take over the world but to restore Mandara's Sharingan.
