| I wish Battlegrounds rewarded cooperative play and encouraged organization. I think the Daily's were a good step towards this, but I'd like to see a lot more information. I'd like to see an Honor->BoJ conversion, and Personal Ratings for each of the Battlegrounds. Your Personal Rating wouldn't only be affected by a win/loss, but would also have a smaller modification whenever you gain honor or die and give someone else honor. It would be based off of how many people were in 'in combat' at the time. If your 40 people gang up against 1 person, it would be an incredibly tiny bonus, but if you end up with 5 people vs 5 other people, it would be worth a minimal amount that would add up over time. This encourages people to stick together
Once you can establish some personal ratings with wins in a specific Battleground, teams from 0 Rating to 1500 Rating would gain 100% Honor. Teams from 1501-2000 Rating would scale from 100% honor, to 300% Honor. Anything over 2000 rating still gives only 300% Honor. Fighting someone with a 1500+ Personal Rating gives bonus Honor when killed.
Team Sizes would be limited to 30 members, you would be on a single Team for all matches, and it would be possible for say 3 WSG groups to run simultaneously.
So for PUG groups, nothing at all would change, except they might get more Honor from killing individuals. Presumably, at least 50% of Battleground combatants would be at 1500 rating if Blizzard's claims about a 50:50 win ratio are true, and the lowest team you're likely to find would also be 1500 rating, because no one would form lower than that.
For higher rated groups, it would try to group them with similarly rated teams, but it wouldn't spend much effort trying to create a match like that. I expect that if the system was correctly done, it wouldn't have to work hard to find a good match, but the rest of the time they should still end up against PUG's.
Right now in an entire day a standard chump can make say around 4k Honor while actually playing, and not on a bonus weekend. At ~1800 rating you'd be gaining double Honor no matter what you did (even for unorganized play), and this would set you around 8k Honor.
Oh, and I'd also create Shoulder/Head/Boot/Glove enchants and Gems that are only usable by people with an adequate personal rating. Enchants would be things like Stun/Fear Resistance (5-10%), ignore spell pushback (20-40%), while on gems I'd like to see some unique ones like a PvP Meta Gem (+18 Resilience, 10% chance on death to revive you, just like the Twisting Nether card). |
