| You know, I never took my flu vaccine, and always considered the avian flu thing to be a big media induced hype thing. But my dad works in health care, in flo cytometry specifically, and he says that the medical community takes these things very seriously because of the real threat of a flu pandemic. Historically, he says, there has been about one flu pandemic per generation and we are long overdue, and that's why it's important to get vaccinated and to keep up on things like avian flu etc. Nothing at all to do with the topic, just something interesting I had been thinking about. |
