I guess I'm left wondering whether any of them are n00b-friendly on the programming side. I have little to no programming background, and I'm not keen to learn C++ or anything else just for the purposes of designing a game (WC3's trigger editor was about as complex a language as I can handle). Before I spend $100+ on an engine, I want to make sure I am able to get some use out of it.
Any personal experience? Is Torque what you guys used for Uberworlds? |
Most entry-level Game Engines like that have their own form of the C language, and to do anything serious you (or someone else) would have to do some coding, unless there's a Strategy-RPG maker out there that you can just add stats in and stuff. o.O
