| A new direction
As some of you may have noticed, work on uberworlds has ground to an absolute halt. I won't get into the reasons for this since they are not relevant, but would rather go over where I want things to go from here.
Basically, I don't see focusing everyone on a single project is the best course for the time being. Without being able to really focus work, it hasn't been possible to achieve anything beyond what you've already seen.
What I would like to see this forum changed to is a more open discussion for people who are creating their own worlds, doing their own modelling, or even just modding exsiting games to come together. There is also the possibility that some of the assets we have available, such as forums, web page, wiki, hosting, etc, may be usable but that is yet to be decided and even if it comes about, it will be chosen on a case by case basis.
Personally, I think I'm going to go back to getting Newbie World up and running and finish polishing it up. I much prefered the creation side of things and wasn't too successful at the management sides 8) Anyone who is interesting in helping is more then welcome, you can reach me in irc most days. |
