That's the archaic mindset I'm talking about. Having levelled up at release, twice, just before the transfers, once, in burning crusade three times all on PvP servers, the levelling situation as it stands now is much improved from back in the day. Not saying that world PvP does not happen while levelling, or that you won't get ganked, but that it will not seriously put a damper on your playtime like it used to. You got ganked 3 times in 3 different parts -- I used to run a 6 minute timer 24/7 in Hillsbrad. It's just not the same landscape anymore, the people who levelled up right before they implemented the first character transfers did so in a completely different game than we have now. The rules simply need to be evaluated and updated to fit with the overall vision of WoW.

Only reason for no pve->pvp atm is because then blizzard has to fix all the dead pve servers

This is an entirely seperate issue and should not be confused with the desire to implement PvE->PvP servers. There are many, many people who still wish to play on PvE servers. I just do not happen to be one of them. Hell, you might not happen to be one of them. But those people do exist, and that ruleset will continue to exist to accomodate them. Solutions on how to fix low population/under progressed PvE realms is just not relevant here.
