Having recently rerolled on a pvp server because my roommate insisted, I am every day amazed at how pathetic the overwhelming majority of people on these servers are. 70s hanging around in hillsbrad, arathi, stv .. doing nothing but ganking lower levels. The same level 70 warrior killed me 3 times in 3 separate parts of stv in the span of under 60-90 mintues.

Why?

I can't speak for everyone, and I'm sure someone is going to just chime in about being used to blue care bear servers, but I don't understand why you're allowed to openly attack someone more than 4 levels below you. With some very nominal exceptions, it's an auto-win. Maybe 4 levels isn't enough of a gap, but it makes no sense to me whatsoever why a 70 would want to attack a 36. What do you gain? You get no honor, no loot, no coin. It can't even be that fun considering it's nothing but 1 or 2 attacks with 0 chance of losing. It doesn't even count as an HK for your epeen total. I passed by lower level people all the time and it never once occured to me to kill them. I even came across a night elf trying to run away at 10% and I rooted the mob that was chasing him to help him. What do I gain by pissing off someone I've never met?

They probably don't allow pve -> pvp transfers since leveling up without being able to be ganked only to turn around and gank while at 70 would be kind of silly. As for where the raid guilds are clustered, I'm baffled as to why they're on pvp servers. Then again, if your definition of fun is killing people half your level between raids, I probably wouldn't want to be in your guild anyway.
