Yeah, I don't get this either. STV alone is enough to get you from 30-40. Yes, I know it's somewhat of a chore on PvP servers, but man up you pussies. I did STV on every single one of my 45+ characters (6 I think now), start to finish just because there's so much shit to do there.
However, I just picked up my shaman again a few weeks back at 55. I took him out to felwood, killed a few mobs for 300 RESTED xp, did one quest for 3000xp, popped him out to thrallmar and killed a level 58 boar for 1200xp. Huh, yeah, I'll just have a buddy summon me some water and do this for awhile.
