I pre-ordered my copy from Gamestop on the 16th and got my key the 18th (A Tuesday) Not that I neeed the key but I want to lay it in retail.
Also a pre-order key doesn't get you into the beta immediately. After you register your pre-order key you get put into a pool of possible candidates. They send out a wave of invites to random people once a day so far. You will eventually get invited but its a bit of luck on how early you get selected. |

Gamestop is clearly lying about their key release practices.
Edit: About those asking about pre-downloading the client, I managed to use some google, a screenshot 2 pages back, and some quotes to find the client download page.

It wouldn't let me download at all in Firefox, and it is giving me 'probable network firewall problems' in IE. Guessing there is just no way to download it until you receive your 2nd 'I'm in the beta' email.
Edit 2: I was thinking more about the key release procedures and I think the guy's exact words were 'we get our new batches in and send them out on Thursday.' This would imply if they were out of codes for the week, one would have to wait until Thursday (like me.) If the week you purchased, they happen to still have codes, then maybe you could get them on Tuesday. Otherwise, they are full of crap at Gamestop.
