| Scott Baker (who?) almost throws perfect game Scott Baker (yea I know, who?) of the Minnesota Twins almost threw a perfect game tonite. Perfect through 8, walks the leadoff man to ruin the perfect, then gives up a one out hit to lose the no-hitter. I realize he doesn't pitch for Boston, but if Curt Schilling can get his own thread for a one-hitter, so can some schlub from Minnesota. Granted, it was against the Kansas City Royals, but noone put an asterisk beside Daivd Wells' perfect game against the Twins back in the nineties. Great game, good to see the Twins doing something other than the "we can't play well enough to make a run" shit they have been all year. AAhh well, 4 Central Championships in 6 years is nothing to sneeze at (despite the fact they are incapable of making it out of the first round of the playoffs). |
