| Not sure how it's set up here, but typically users can edit Thread Titles for a little while after posting. To check, try double-clicking next to the thread you just created, on the threadlist page. It should cause an edit box to enclose the thread title, at which point you can edit it.
Might not be enabled here, I dunno.
