| There are two titles stored in vBulletin, one is the thread title, the other is the post title. There's also a thread title edit timer. When you use the normal edit interface, you're only editing the post title inside the thread itself and not the actual thread title you see in the forum thread listing, unless you do it before the thread title edit timer expires. If you want to edit the thread title after the timer is up you need permission to access the "Edit Thread" command from the Thread Tools menu (which normal users don't have access to here).
