| 1080p would be worth it at that size of television. The things to look for in a good LCD are:
Contrast ratio- (usually shown as something 1000:1) The higher the first number the better.
Brightness - usually shown somethin like 550 ms, which is around the standard for most good LCDs.
Responce time- this is important for gaming and sports/action movies, usullay 8ms or lower is what you should look for.
Also, what connections it has in the back can also be big. You definitely need one or more HDMI connection (this is standard on most current LCDs)
As far as brands, you should probably go to a store and check side by side comparisons and check specification charts. I have a 32" Samsung LCD and it is wonderful, though it and Sony are the more expensive brands. I think the more well known brands would be worth it for a big LCD. (Though price is a consideration) |
