As much as I dislike David Stern, him being a former lawyer, and obsessed with the image of the NBA as a marketable product with international potential. I have a real hard time believing that he would have allowed this ref to continue to work games, let alone a playoff game had he known about it beforehand.
Say what you want about Stern, but he is a very by the book kind of guy.
Dark: NYT and AP are reporting that an anon source said the NBA found out after the finals about the ref. A lot of papers pick up the AP, so I would tend to believe that they will recycle what the AP is reporting. Having said that, just because the papers are reporting it, doesnt make it true one way or the other. My thoughts/opinion read above.
