| Fixing the point spread can very much so have an effect on the game. The difference between being down 3 or 4 with a minute to go and being down 7 or 8 with the same minute to go can greatly alter your strategy and gameplan.
Being down just a few means you can get a lucky steal, drain a 3 maybe tack on a foul and be tied or back in the lead.. being down more means you are fouling and praying they miss, which has like a 2% success rate.
