I'm using Samsung displays, 214T's (three of them). As soon as I calibrated, and it did ask me basically "do you want to see what Mac sees, or Windows" and I chose windows, it was identical to my PC.
The Gamma and color profiles are just so different. Fucking macs (I love them).
Also, about the printer not matching the screen... I've been through that hell as a professional photographer. I had a commercial quality dye sublimation printer, and the amount of color profiles I had to coordinate between my camera, monitor, photoshop, the printer (which had a profile for ever brand/type of paper)... I am not sure I ever got it 100% right.
