EDIT: Actually, the idea I have in mind would be for a 25v25 guild versus guild competitive BG, somewhat like AV but much improved. No outside consumables would be allowed, but you could get tokens from looting corpses that would allow you to buy all sorts of things, from instance-bound consumables to Kael'Thas style legendary items that disappear at the end of the game. That way it'd be kinda like DOTA, where the winning side gears up faster and faster and eventually overwhelms the other side, ensuring a timely ending. Also, it'd be more fair that way for guilds in various levels of progression; a more progressed guild would have an advantage, but a good PvP guild could get a lot of early kills and overwhelm the other side with token purchased items. |
The rewards would have to be incredible for guilds to give a shit about this at all, and you would STILL end up pissing off the rest of the WoW player base. Seriously, you'd probably piss off about 90% of it. The casuals are pissed because it's loot they can't get, and the raid guilds are pissed because they get sand in their vaginas whenever anyone gets loot from PvP ever.
