The Lusitania was a British passenger ship sunk during WWI and helped precipitate American involvment in the war. It was carrying war supplies, though that was denied by the British and didn't come to light for years. (Hey good thing governments don't lie to their citizens!)

There has been some controversy about whether the Brits and Americans erm helped in several ways insure her attack and sinking, so as to enrage America and draw her into the war (and it did indeed help swing public opinion for us getting involved).

Can't say as this is true or not, but some *highly* suspicious stuff occurred that makes one wonder. Go read a few dozen history books and you'll see quite a bit of this shady stuff going on around various wars and revolutions. History is taught so we can learn from it, but half you guys are too busy smoking joints under the bleachers...

As for you Genjiro, ever hear about concentration camps? May surprise you to know those *weren't* common knowledge in Germany and were denied worldwide. Historical revisionists are finally teaching that, wow! America and other governments did actually know about them, even though, by golly, they denied it for decades.

And not that this is nefarious in any way, but you do realize *thousands* of people were involved in the Manhatten Project, and that was kept tight until the day the bombs exploded. They hid entire fucking towns from state governments for christ sake. Just because the government (like anyone else) trips on its dick once in a bit doesn't mean it can't get things right sometimes too.
