| Best bet is to take it up there, be nice and honest. Unless you slammed it on the ground and ran over it to break it, it should be considered normal wear and tear.
Today I went to Alltel with my phone that is ~3 months old. The belt clip spring had broken and my 9 key wouldn't work unless you pressed the left half of it. Not a big deal but annoying, especially considering the way I hold my phone and punch in numbers for automated calls etc. Anyway, I showed it to the guy, told him what it was doing and he filled out a warranty report, told me I would get a new one in the mail in 3-4 days and to bring back the old one with the new one, they would switch my info into it activate it and that's it. Oh, and he gave me a new holster clip on the spot. All for nothing but 5 minutes and some friendly chatter.
