| It was an amazing event. Usualy it's pretty boring since in 90% of the cases the boat winning the first leg wins the race and in 32 editions the score has been 5-0 27 times! Not much this time, so it was both nerve wrecking and very spectacular. Without a doubt one of the most photogenic and "cinegenic" sport.
The 33rd might be back to being boring because they will change the regulations for the boats (current one have been set in 1994) so the engineering phase will again weight more in the balance (aka potential big difference from one ship to another, ending in 5-0 unless something breaks or someone does something very stupid).
PS: Switzerland has many big (and small) lakes hence a solid sailing tradition (the only swiss guy on the ship was the owner though). |
