At least the effort is being made to fix it... won't help the game any however. Reason people went back to EQ2 is for the lore and nostalgia purposes. It already had an established fanbase of curious onlookers especially with people now getting bored/annoyed with WoW. Vanguard doesn't have that. They'll be lucky to break 100k subs again imo.
