You know I've run into this with my old guild, a guild that I had been with for over 5 years. All close friends, if ever anyone was in each other's town, we had a place to crash or someone to grab beers with. We rolled the first night EQ2 went live, and due to the state of the game most everyone went to WoW, shortly thereafter.
Now when EQ2 gets brought up and all the changes and improvements, its the same old 3 year old crying bullshit of dragging up the state of the game two months after release and before Gallenite and Co. took the reigns.
I say this to them and to the mmo playerbase with that
aftertaste, that if they are so short sighted and bitter about something that took place 3years ago at release consisting of some dumb playstyle decisions (locked encounters and group death xp penalty come to mind) and going in the wrong direction content-wise for a game sequel (helloooo...it's EQ
2), it's your loss.
I know for a fact that alot of the guys from my old guild are wanting to play but the cockblock grindfest of time spent playing WoW for 3 years is just really to hard for them to walk away from, which is pretty damn sad.
