Eh, it's just a different kind of fun. I prefer playing with human players over computers regardless. Some of my friends just suck at video games (in particular, FPS Games) so I can't just 4 split screen it and hit it up, because they still blow
Online can fill that gap with other dedicated gamers.
Casual gaming with friends is indeed awesome but I can't knock online gaming when you're more 'hardcore' into a given game than your real life friends are.
