I had better luck with the spin attack, but yeah - it wasn't anywhere near as responsive as it should have been.

The shield thing was just never even worth trying to use due to its horrible success rate.

So yeah, overall, I guess the Wiimote did detract from the quality of the game. I loved the Wiimote for aiming, but that definitely did not make up for how shitty it was for the majority of the melee attacks.

I do still think Zelda TP is by far the best Zelda they've ever made, even after the newness has worn off. It certainly should have had much more responsive controls though - especially for the infuriatingly long delay they gave it to make it work with the Wiimote.

And sadly in the case of Zelda it definitely is an example of the Wiimote not adding anything truly new to the genre.
