Zelda... it does ranged weapons better. A lot better really. The Wiimote is good for "slower-paced" ranged weapon gameplay. Sadly, the GC controls were definitely better for the melee aspect of the game.

The melee controls for Zelda weren't all bad... but they really should have made pressing the big A button be the standard attack swing rather than swing the Wiimote.

Instead it was used for the Jump-attack.

If the regular swing was just A, the jump attack was some different combination, and the circle attack kept to "shaking" the nunchuck *or* charging the A button I think it would have been a much more enjoyable experience. Still not as good as using the gamepad, but a hell of a lot better than the retarded way they set it up.
Total agreement on Zelda controls. Zelda:TP was the game that showed me the wiimote has potential, but the shaking shit for swinging (whew) was pretty dull. Simply aiming with the wiimote added 100x more enjoyment to the game than anything else.
