Really sorry to hear about any MMO hitting the shitcan but I have to say if it was any of them, VG had all of the signs. While comparisions between VG and Daikatana were a give in, I was seeing "Horizons" written all over VG from what I was hearing. Horizons, to me, was like walking through a field of shit to find a flower: the few good parts about it were completed surrounded by terrible, terrible design.
Honestly though, this reminds me of a post I read way way way back on the Lum the Mad forums. Smed was butchered there and Brad (for the most part) was treated pretty favorably; apparently Smed was blamed for all the bad in EQ at the time and Brad was given props for all that was good. Anyway, I remember a news post from "an insider" who stated that it was really Smed who was the driving force behind EQ's success and that Brad had
no clue how to run a company or manage development of a product. Not saying if it's true or not, just saying it's..interesting concerning recent events.
