Well if many of the same people working on it now were going to be brought in under SOE to continue work, then it makes sense. You wouldn't just have everyone involved with the game quit instantly and leave shit half done and then expect totally new people to pick up where they left off.
Those guys are just peons, trying to earn a paycheck.. no reason to get rid of them since they aren't the ones at fault here.
