Even the cartoon used real vehicles from real auto companies. |
I don't mind them using real vehicles, even recognizable ones. What I do mind is film-makers framing shots specifically in order to illustrate or centre a particular brand or logo (a brand or logo which, I might add, tends to be unusually shiny and clean in comparison to the rest of the set).
I find this practice invasive and pernicious, particularly because I have to put up with advertising in nearly every domain of life nowadays, and when it also takes over my alleged 'entertainment', it really gets on my nerves. I just don't enjoy being treated like a consumer at every possible turn, especially when doing so compromises the integrity of a scene. Given that this is a MBay movie, I can expect this to happen routinely and that turns me off in advance.
