I think the key is Guild's and Friends, if you have neither then EQ will suck really bad and really fast. Reguardless of the flames and stuff even if your guild is just getting to TOV it is fun and if you relax and just play there is ton's of fun to be had.

I know my guild will not be a FOH or anywhere near it but it's ok, I like reading about FOH and Afterlife as long as the don't put down those that are just trying to play but are not as good or devoted or whatever.

I know having RL friends and In-game friends makes the difference for me, Granted i needed to be in a raid guild because i need to see some progression but it doesnt have to be the fastest progression.

I like to joke with my guild and friends and that allows me to put up with Bugs and camps and KS's. Also im 26 and have been playing games from age 10 so i played Atari 2600 and up and after a while you get tired of some games.

EQ is a game that is always there for you when you want to play and people like that and it's cheap and fun. You can be any race, religon, sex and play you don't need much money and that's they key.

SOE knew what they had after the saw people logged in 24/7 and knew they had to keep it that way this is why we are getting LOY because people cried about POP being to hard so now they give 35 to 60 area's for them that most of us won't go into except for a quick explore.

Also it's a good topic for work, school or home, The whole loser thing is so old, I went to clubs and talked about smoking and my car and girls and now i go to a restarant and talk about EQ my car and my girl.

The key is to find what you like in EQ and go for that and if that doesnt work then quit because this is a game afterall.
