| Shills bother me because I come here (for the most part) due to the back-and-forth of debates and arguments about MMOs, their flaws, new ideas, general MMO news, and the Batphone. When shills start utilizing the boards merely as a free source of advertising it detracts from the very foundation and character of the forums and its members. As annoying as they can be, at least fanboys are passionate about their games and can offer discussion and insight into whatever topic may be under discussion.
Besides, as others have said, it's insulting to try and lure us into interest with the game; just send a PR folk or developer to give the low-down on the game. These boards aren't exactly alien to the concept of the presence of those in the industry. |
