Sorry, the altars are not an acceptable answer. If it's a bug in the game due to something as simple as chunking the GM's should be authorized to reimburse experience.
I had the same thing happen to me that happened to Bongk. Luckily it was only once, if it happened to me multiple times my subscription would be canceled. I can deal with the bugs because they were completely expected, but if you're launching in that state your GM staff damn well better be able to help people in this situation.
