Not that I've had to use it on my 31 Ranger a lot, but summon corpses at the Alter for the win
I really do think the death penalty in the game is well balanced. As you get more levels it stings a bit more given how much exp you need to level. I have a few guildmates who are about to hit 40 within a couple hours (all night grind sessions is how we roll), and man it stinks if their ISP crashes and they die or something. But compared to all the other MMOs out there it is one of the best aspects of the game. Not being able to recover a tombstone to get that precious exp past level ~25 bites though. About 98% of my guildmates who have some sort of tombstone problem just summon it and keep grindin' and a questin'
While CS has nothing to do with fixing code bugs, I would say it is more of a priority than having a GM come down and summon your corpse when you can do it at an alter. CS is swamped with people learning the dyanmics and mechanics of the game. I know for a fact a lot of the GM team gets petitions for things that are not even fixable by a GM and or can be done by a player. If you haven't seen it before they have Server MSGs going around stating what a petition should and shouldn't include, ect. So yeah that holds up "The Pit" quite a bit. As Sigil racks in some profit they can get more GMs (and designers *COUGH*), and the "noobie" questions won't be as abundant.
I personally bind a majority of my gear. The gear that is sub-par (random drops, not things from major questlines or named drops) I'll leave unbound. If I die and need to do a CR then I bust out some of my spare gear in my saddlebags. Botta boom botta bing. Plus I can sell that gear later on when I do replace it with a Rare+ piece

If you are leveling slower and enjoying the game at your own pace, awesome. It may be easier for you if you're playing with some friends/guildmates that will be by your side a majority of the time to not bind your gear so you can sell it off and rack in some coin when you get an upgrade. I say that because they can help you with your CR if you don't have adequate backup gear and all that jazz. In the end you'll have more coin than most players I'm sure
Back to the game. I'm slacking compared to my guildmates
*edit* Just curious, since the thread is semi-derailed already... How are you guys like the exp curve and progression rate?
