| If you immerse yourself in a language, it takes about 2 months to learn it in my experience. You can get common lingo down much faster. Im talking passive immersion here (4-6 hrs/day without your native language). I know you can learn languages faster with total immersion.
Working a job with some guys who spoke only spanish, it took about a week to learn the basic working commands and very basic conversational, at a month i was fluent with everything to do with work, and at 2 months I was mostly fluent with spanish as a whole and completely fluent with anything remotely related to work. I consider myself fluent, because even if i do come by a word i dont really know, i can usually figure it out on the fly just from the sentence. |
