| Oh, there most definately is truth to the "carpal tunnel" joke. Playing a bard, you run the risk of severely fucking your wrist(s).
When I was a Freshman in high school, I broke a bone in my wrist. I never allowed it the chance to heal correctly, and it's always bothered me. When I bend my wrist a certain way, you can see a lump at the base of my hand, right on top of my wrist, that is the bone sticking out at an odd angle.
A few months ago, I noticed that there was a patch on my right wrist, right near the gross bone, where it seemed as if there was nothing. A hole, if you would, covered by skin. A divet, a soft spot, a place where you can poke your finger and not meet resistance from anything other than the skin. I chalked it up to my wrist being fucked. As time's gone on, though, the hole's gotten bigger, and the oddest thing... I now have the same divet on my left wrist, and it's getting bigger, too. I shit you not here, and I know it sounds fucked, but I honestly think, playing as much EQ as I do, that being a bard is causing my hands to seperate themselves completely from my fucking arms.
If I get the urge, I'll fire up the digi cam and take some photos of the "divets" in question for you to gaze upon.
Oh, and I'm not even going to bother responding to the original post. |
