I don't think people feel threatened so much as offended by having to read completely asinine things. No one really gives a fuck if he is quitting. And he did address the post. Instances and public testing ruin your immersion? OMG I'm not the first person to kill this boss! The point here is that either you are bleeding edge enough to be one of the guilds creating the new strats and mods or you are following in their wake. If you were a bleeding edge person (and I'm not these days) and you remember dealing with BWL, then you would not blink an eye at the idea of public testing. If you aren't bleeding edge then you are getting trickled down content anyway, and you can hardly complain about immersion even in a non instanced world.
I can't believe that people are seriously making posts against public testing on this board after all the garbage we put up with in EQ and all the years of threads SCREAMING for a "real" test server for high end guilds to help get end game content in ship shape rather than shoving unfinished zones and blatant lies down our throats. Didn't we nearly unanimously agree that we would rather wait for shit to come out complete and accept the "l337 b3t4 str4tz" as collateral damage as long as we never had to put up with another Rathe Council or Blackwing Lair? Quit WoW if you like, but stop acting like your personal immersion being potentially compromised is worth going back to the dark ages. Maybe I am too easy on MMO devs, but I have a hard time insisting that all this shit should be prefectly tested internally and come out with nothing that is going to smack the early users of the zone in the face.
