Wanted to use my "Virgin Post" to say Thank God for this thread. Kept trying to get into Eve but the learning curve post-Tutorial is insanely tough.

Some quick questions though.

1. Heard from a few sources that its worth going through tutorial to get some special item that you can sell for quick cash. I might start up the game again, but already understand the basics of control and such Can you skip the tutor and still reap the benefits of it?
2. Can anyone explain the different ways to buy and sell stuff? The tutorial only really explains how to buy/sell to the Empire. I kept getting the feeling that if I only knew how to use the Player Market (or whatever there is) I could be getting more money/cheaper items.
