| It gets better when you meet Johnathan Strange (about page 200) but its always a Victorian style novel with very little modern realism to it (and so very PG, even Harry Potter is darker). It also has connecting plots (like the war with Napolean) but never an overarching plot.
A good book, but a bit overrated.
