I am a fanatical reader so I have a mountain of books that I could suggest but there are only a few series out there that once I started reading them I couldnt stop until I was done. The first was the Coldfire trilogy which I linked and the second are the books about Vlad Taltos by Steven Brust. These books are completely addictive and if you havnt read them your missing out. Not only are they interesting from a action/mystery stand point but they are at times funny as hell. Vlad's sarcasm and wit are fantastic.

1. Jhereg (1983)
2. Yendi (1984)
3. Teckla (1987)
4. Taltos (1988)
5. Phoenix (1990)
6. Athyra (1993)
7. Orca (1996)
8. Dragon (1998)
9. Issola (2001)
10. Dzur (2006)

There is no offical series name, just the order that the books were published. The names seem simple but youll understand once you start reading that each book is named after one of the "Houses" within the series. The houses all have different standing/purposes and typically dont like each other. House Jhereg for example is home to some of the best assassins in the world. House Dragon is the most war-like ect.

Its real interesting stuff.
