Knife of Dreams (Book 11) was finally back to the form of the first few books. I'd made myself trudge through the previous 4 or 5 almost reluctantly but I felt I'd made it that far along, I might as well see it through to the end. KoD for the first time in years made me think I might actually enjoy the ending!

He had got himself stuck in a rut for too many books where he would, for example, take five pages to tell us, again, that Perrin was full of sorrow. It got very old, very quickly. In book 11 he started getting to the point in a reasonable amount of time again and although at times part of the story has had "Lost" levels of unanswered questions, he is starting to wrap some of the 812 ongoing story thread up at last.

Forgive the slightly bitter tone of my reply, five or six books of tripe means he has some serious making up to do before the end which allegedly is the book after next.

p.s. Will the Asmodean question ever be answered?
