Silas is a little fuck there is no doubt about that. He did deserve it and does need to be put in his place...but not by Peter. As her boyfriend he would of been in his rights to talk to her about his behavior later in private, and even get a little pissy about her lack of action. His first night with the family though and he gets physical with him? When I saw it my first thought was "bad form peter" and I figured Nancy wouldnt be too thrilled about it either and she wasnt.
When you come into a home that has lost a father, you do NOT try and take on that role your first night with the family. The kids would already be hostile towards you.. and your first action is to get physical with the older son cause he isnt being respectful? Game over Peter, you lose.
