"Guild groups are the way to go." You do realize how much rarer guild groups are compared to PUGs when it comes to doing the instance you want to do, right? In a 50-man guild, much less the 25-30-man guilds in TBC, guild groups form about once every 2-3 hours and that's assuming you have a reserved spot in every guild group your guild fields. Is it that surprising that people don't want to spend 2-3 hours LFG every time they log on?

Well consider even in raiding guilds how many people are login raid and immediately logout and are never on otherwise. Then there are some who are on a lot some days but not other days, and sometimes on all the time but guess what, 5 slots in a group and you don't really need say, 2 druids in a group or something. And of course any raiding guild with a stacked raid set up, someone is gonna have to lfg likely, or solo, though I haven't seen much info flat out stating people can solo just as easily to 70. I'm sure they still can, but I would hope grouping content would be worth it by now to not want to solo.
At this point not having an actually useable LFG function is just being lazy. Having a channel is not good enough, they are a total spam fest and EQ had better group finding functionality 4 years ago than WoW does today. Besides, like every game has a decent group searching system.
