| For about 2 years DAOC was a truly good MMORPG PvP game. That's 2 years longer than most other games.
Second on Darkness Falls being a great addition to the game, although I think it was by accident, and largely not due to the efforts of Mythic's clueless content designers. The reason that it was a great zone was because it combined PvP and PvE into one zone. By being a great place to get items and xp, and also heavily contested, it created an encounter area that was relevant and fun. It was what the frontiers should have been when DAOC started, before Mythic decided to separate pvp and pve zones to try to please both crowds and failing on both levels. |
