Thats exactly what a pvp need to strive for in my opionion, being a ripe breeding ground for OMG WTF!!! drama. When their is a lot to lose from dying from you player... xp, gear, cash, or something of -value-, then people work together to basically prevent pvp. I'm a huge proponent of also allowing players the fullest ability to regulate the rules on pvp as possible. If you make death hurt, and have an open pvp system, which allows for backstabbing, cheap kills, ninja looting ect, and add in an open pvp system, you encourage players to self-regulate their own pvp environment. Sure, there will be greifer types, assholes, ect, but you will never get rid of them in any game ever, nor should it even be a goal of a pvp server to prevent these things.
Instead, make things open and give the /players/ the ability to take control of greifers/retards like this themselves. Having real concequences to your actions through the reputation it brings you and your allies is what makes mmo pk interesting to me, not killing people. Don't get me wrong, I can be happy for a while just killing people, but I expect a more wholesome experience of an extended reputation to matter in my mmo pvp. I like to build and know my and other players honor, and know that if me or any of my friends comes in trouble, that we will work together to return the favor because we have something to protect.
