| We've played on a couple different servers that have had an insanely bad Horde to Alliance ratio, and keeping our core of leet ex-eq'ers surrounded by decent people has always been difficult, despite being the top Horde guild. Recruiting fully geared t2 apps has always been impossible as we've always been far ahead of the Horde on our servers (though pretty shitty overall lol). The biggest thing about gearing up new people, is that its only worth it if they're good players who aren't going to fag out. With WoW as full of bnet kiddies as it is, its hard to weed out the little tools who keep their mouths shut to get tagged and geared, then emo out to go jerk off in bg's all day or reroll ezmode.
What has worked the best for us was making a developmental guild where new players/apps/server transfers on our low pop server can level up together and get their attunements/blue gear/resist gear together then start filling in empty raid slots. Seeing how committed people are to pumping out those keys and 240 NR gear has been a pretty decent barometer. We also always make sure to disenchant at least one epic that an app wants and make sure they get at least one expletive filled tirade directed their way before they get anything, to weed out the loot whore kiddy fags and carebear retarded mollusks. |
