| While its nice to get geared people, there are tons of scrubs in tier 2 and even some with AQ drops that I wouldn't want in my guild anyway. Run BWL 1day a week, and toss the rots (because if you are running Naxx I guarantee short of the trinkets BWL is shard status for all the loot) to an app. If their scrubbiness shows early in BWL, well what do you lose. Raid gets gold splits, you get more Nexus Crystals. If they don't, odds are the app gets enough upgrades to be functional in Naxx.
Recently we've been trying out a warrior who rerolled, we gave him ZG/AQ20 drops, as well as rot BWL drops, and after starting that it really didn't take long to get him to at least be able to tank some trash. You can usually tell fairly quick if someone is going to work out or not, and really losing a few Nexus Crystals isn't the worst thing.
I actually find recruiting to be difficult in a raiding guild in the sense of finding people before actually trying them out on raids. I mean everything is instanced, and at best you might meet some people in AV because odds are you likely run AB/WSG in guild groups, and 5 mans too unless you got a bunch of twinks you run them through. Its more like guilds are their own little society rather than a group within the community because the game really doesn't encourage socialization like it did in EQ. |
