| The Man who Shot Liberty Valance. Probably my favorite western. Lee Marvin, John Wayne, and Jimmy Stewart. Can't find a much better cast than that. It's not particularly full of action, but the story is great and there is very little cheese. Oh yeah, it's also black and white, but don't let that put you off.
Another vote for Unforgiven. Not only one of the best westerns I've seen, but one of my favorite movies overall.
I also second Maverick if you're up to something a little more offbeat, I absolutely love that movie.
Despite how much I DESPISE Kevin Costner, I have to admit Open Range was pretty good as well. |
