| I can definitely see where people thought they were kinda lame, but to me (just to bring in another thread- the Thief one) it was the most "covert ops"-ish that I ever really got to feel in a multiplayer game. I suck at FPSes, because I can't shoot for crap.
But with conc jumping it didn't matter. There was only one clan (and I'll be damned if I remember who it was- I think it was BH) who left a HW guy in the RR of 2fort5 who could stop me there. I'd go through match after match where I *might* have a kill or two (engies in the flag room) but otherwise I'd do nothing but run (and more to the point, conc jump) like a crazy mofo.
And it was possible to win like that.
During the "cheese" era you had two choices, kill the other guy (using one set of skill) and get past him... or conc past him (using a different set of skills). QWTF is one of the few games... ever... that really utilized that second set of skills. |
