| If anyone is still offended by the use of the word "gay", they are missing the big picture, imo. If I say "stop being so gay" or "you're such a faggot", I am not associating those insults with homosexuality at all, it's evolved into a sort of general insult that people aren't justified becoming angry about because it has lost all meaning. If I were to say "you are a homosexual", then I feel that alone has the direct meaning of... you are a homosexual.
You can call me ignorant or whatever, but I live in one of the gayest cities on the east coast and probably have more gay friends/relatives than whosoever calls me out, so whatever.
However, and maybe this is hypocritical, I never use racism and feel it is a lot more offensive. |
