| It's not that most of the people saying those things are inbred, mongoloid "Deliverance-ites." Many of them are perhaps decent people, from good families in upscale neighborhoods. It all goes back to the same thing:
When people are on the internet, they feel okay with calling people kikes, niggers, faggots, insert insult here.
"No one can see my face or who I really am, so I'm free to go crazy nutso!"
That's not to say they shouldn't be accountable. I think "insert gaming company here" could easily monitor this situation by having keywords, like racial epithets, set off an alarm where the entire conversation and surrounding conversations are recorded, and set aside in a special file where a GM can review it and ban accounts when needed.
As far as WoW goes, when I briefly played on the test server a long time ago, there was nothing BUT people scroll-spamming racial insults without a GM in sight.
